| Lineage is important to some in the Reiki community, completely forgotten by others. Personally, I am more concerned with instruction quality than lineage. Lineage implies how closely and directly you are linked to the originator of Reiki, Usui Sensai. For those who find it interesting, I leave here what I know of my lineage. Below is my chart which is not complete. I have been attuned and instructed by six Masters, four of whom have attuned me to Master level. Some of my instructors did not know their lineage, so those have been omitted. Below are some main branches of Reiki so you may see the interconnection. |

| The beauty of so many teachers and so many different lineage paths ensures the ability of Reiki to fit countless unique souls, differing approaches, all religions. Any path that adheres to complete rigidity fades with time, as humankind is not intended to stagnate in its development. Although I believe in using Reiki as closely aligned with Usui Sensai's teachings as possible, I have no problem adding other methods to my healing tool belt. |

| Without exception, everyone that I have crossed paths with has been my teacher, in one way or another. Without the whole of my history, I would not be the same person that I am today. My endless list of teachers begins with my parents and family, of course, but includes a child that ridiculed me in the grocery store when I was nine, an anonymous person that crashed into my car and fled the scene, a homeless woman and her dog that I bought groceries for. The list includes the world's greatest high school math teacher, the patience of my best friend, the loyalty of my husband. It includes authors of poetry, meditation, and fiction. It includes all the people involved to create movies like Kundun, American Beauty, and Donnie Darko. To list ALL of my teachers would be impossible. With that in mind, I have listed teachers and speakers of whom I have taken their Classes, Workshops, and Lectures, teachers mostly well known, some known to the fortunate few. These are people of varying backgrounds and philosophies. Teachers and organizations to whom I owe a tremendous debt. I appreciate you all. | Many of the notable teachers on the lineage chart above have more than one lineage source that connect them to Mikao Usui. Frank Arjava Petter received attunement through both Eastern and Western lineages, for example. William Lee Rand has had multiple instructors. This chart certainly demonstrates the complexity of the effects one instructor or branch has on another. To list every association would be more detailed than is my goal here. In an effort to keep the chart legible, I have not included every possible connection. If you are directly involved with a Reiki branch and have found any of the information above in error, please contact me! I will correct it as soon as possible. |
